How Maytag dryers are built and where they fail
Maytag electric dryers use a resistance heating element in series with a thermal cutoff fuse and thermostats. Maytag gas models use an igniter and gas valve coil assembly. Because Maytag shares its platform with Whirlpool since 2006, diagnostic procedures and parts are largely the same as for Whirlpool dryers of equivalent vintage.
