Why won't my GE dryer drum spin?
A GE dryer that runs but doesn't spin has almost always broken its drive belt. When the belt breaks, the drum spins freely by hand with no resistance — this distinguishes a belt failure from a seized roller or bearing, which produces resistance on hand spin.
